Our ethos is to engage all children in their learning through encouraging independence, creativity and emotional well-being. We believe that children are competent, curious learners and strive to provide engaging and hands-on experiences to nurture their love of learning. We place a large emphasis on transitioning children seamlessly through EYFS by following many principles of the Foundation Stage, which specifically values the interests of each child as an individual and the importance of Play-based learning.

Mr Rogers Quote on Play

We are very proud of our ethos in Year 1, and continually strive to improve our practice to get the best possible outcomes for all of our children. We hope this page has helped you to understand our values and the intrinsic link between learning and playing- please view some links below to get further information about our 'challenge-based' curriculum, early reading, homework, and useful links.
